Nobody likes to tie them so why not buy them? The Gomphus is intended to suggest the sedentary, spider-like, sprawler family of dragon nymphs.
The Gomphus features a tightly spun and clipped deer hair body that suspends above the bottom weeds and debris when tethered to a fast sinking line that sinks at 3-inches per second or greater. Use a slow hand twist or 4-6 strip retrieve with prolonged pauses. Be sure to use a strong tippet, as takes are often savage.
